Once upon a time, we were open, slinging coffees, teas and treats the Carlington and the wider community. We gave it our best try and had a ton of fun, but made the hard decision to close our doors. We are grateful for the support and love we received from our customers and the community. Support your local coffee shop and small businesses.

The Artery Community Roaster

Bags of Stephen Hawkbean; a dark roast by The Artery Community Roaster.

Freshly roasted on innovative fluid bed roasters, The Artery sells direct trade coffee that they source through their friends at Semilla Coffee, who are coffee advocates and small-scale importers who care. This allows them to operate with only 1 to 2 degrees of separation between us and the farmers who grow our delicious coffee.

All the employees who are roasting and packaging their coffee, are people living with disabilities. Their main mission is to provide stable employment and work experience, paid at a living wage, for people living with disabilities. In most provinces, people living with disabilities earn between 70 and 75 percent of the income earned by people without disabilities. Many also face significant barriers to finding meaningful employment at all. They are working to play a small part in helping to change this.

Now Pouring: Stephen Hawkbean

Here at the shop we have their Stephen Hawkbean dark roast. Stephen Hawkbean is a dark roast so smooth and flavourful that it will be remembered in both time and space for all of eternity.
